My name is Andy Bethel.
I began working at Cutters Choice as a summer job during high school. I did a number of various tasks including making chain loops and order picking.
I graduated from college with a degree in Computers. After working in that field for a number of years, I returned to Cutters Choice and its’s parent company to work on installing a new computer system. Over the years I have worked in many different areas including purchasing, sales and marketing. In 2005 I was given a new challenge as product development manager for our Chainsaw & Cutoff product lines. Currently I also serve as President of Cutters Choice, and am looking forward to sharing New Products, Tips & Reviews with you!
Hello! My name is Matt Seth.
I started with Cutters Choice (then Zip Penn) right out of high school making chain loops. I then moved into a management position. I worked there for over 13 years in the late 70's and 80's. Those years were during the energy crisis and everyone (including myself) cut wood to heat their houses with wood stoves and I still do!
I am now in my third year at Cutters Choice working as a sales rep. I have seen a huge switch from business being mail order to now being online. I was born and raised on a farm where I learned and had hands on experience with a variety of equipment. I plan to share my knowledge with a wide score of blog posts as they relate to chain saws, small engines and new products. I look forward to many years of feedback (good and bad!) to my blog posts.
Technical / Customer Support
I grew up on a farm where we fixed everything. Dad use to say no point paying someone to fix something we can fix ourselves! It was go-karts and mini bikes that drove my love of small engine repair, to make them run better and faster was always a thrill. In 1992 I started an apprenticeship as a small engine mechanic. In 1994 I received my Certificate of Qualification and later that year I went to the Briggs & Stratton Authorized Field Service School. I have stayed current by working in the field of small engine repair on an ongoing basis. I have been with Cutter's Choice working at the Parts Counter and providing Tech support for the past 3 years.
Hi, my name is Mark Israel; I have been in the outdoor power parts business for over 35 years now, its strange how this industry gets in your blood. I think it’s the people, most everyone I meet seems passionate about what they are doing and it’s infectious.
Over 25 years as purchasing manager I have traveled around the world looking for parts supply. While meeting with suppliers and customers I found that they are only too happy to share their experience. Hopefully I can relay some of what I have learned with you through these blogs.
Hello, my name is Fraser.
I have worked professionally as a Climbing Arborist for 12 years in London, Ontario and Vancouver, British Columbia and I am certified through the International Society of Arboriculture and the Ontario College of Trades as both an Arborist and an Utility Arborist. I own and operate a company that specializes in pruning mature trees and removing hazard trees in London, Ontario.
My professional relationship with the Cutter’s Choice Team allows me to test equipment that they provide so that I can publish blog posts with my professional opinion as to how effective this equipment is “in field” and how to use this equipment in the safest manner. As well, I plan to publish interesting tricks and techniques that I have learned or developed over the years with the intent of making a few common and specific tasks easier and safer for you. Please understand that the techniques described in my blog posts are for trained professionals and that the information provided in these posts are no substitute for certified and formal hands-on training.
I look forward to your readership.
